These threads happen every offseason so I'll shed more light on @PFF pass-block grading/charting

Two big things to remember:

1. OL can't see behind them. They are blocking to a protect a spot (7-8 yards directly behind C for normal dropbacks). If the QB moves off that spot or drops too deep, PFF isn't charging the OL for losing to somewhere he wasn't protecting against

2. Timing matters. If an OL loses 4+ seconds into a traditional dropback concept - an eternity by NFL standards - PFF won't downgrade or charge them with a pressure.

The grading then is a combination of speed and cleanliness of the win/loss for DL/OL while the stat is the stat.

PFF's charting is the industry standard for a reason and far superior to all player tracking based attempts at charting I've seen. It was developed with input from former NFL OL and goes through multiple quality control steps. You're probably not going to be able to play "gotcha" with them as a casual fan.
