Investment and Market News You Might Have Missed During The Week

1. Ghana Capital Market (Metals): Chinese battery materials giant Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt has agreed to acquire Atlantic Lithium (ALL) in an all-cash deal. The company is currently being valued at $292million. The shareholder vote is targeted for November 2026 with potential completion in December 2026. ALL's board unanimously recommends the deal backed by major shareholder Assore with a stake of 26.4% .

2. Ghana (Regulations): SEC Ghana has cautioned the public against investing in Fidelity Capital Investment Group, an entity said to be operating like a Ponzi scheme by promising unusually high returns through platforms such as Telegram. The SEC's deputy director-general (Mensah Thompson) noted the firm is not authorized to operate in Ghana's capital market and urged investors to verify licenses on the regulator's website before committing funds . Fidelity Bank has no affiliations with the company. Early this year there was another online scheme by Melanism Marketing Ltd (Mekanism) promising daily returns via tasks.

3. Ghana Capital Market: As part of the ongoing plans to expand their business, Kasapreko, the maker of Alomo Bitters and other products like ethanol, has raised an IPO with the offer price set at GHS 1.2 per share. 4. Ghana Agriculture Market: Ghanaians reacted strongly after imported Chinese ginger appeared on local markets amid severe shortages of locally produced ginger. A 25 kg is reportedly selling for about GHS 2000, while a 50 kg sack at a major market like Agbogbloshie is going for GHS 4500. The shortage has been linked to poor harvest and widespread ginger blight affecting farmers over the past two years. Processors and market players are now calling for stronger agricultural support
