@fieldnote2_@hooverboard0@TheDunkCentral@JoelXLorenzi@Fullcourtpass Logically, foreknowledge doesn't equal causation. God exists outside time, seeing all moments as "now." He doesn't pre-program your fate; He simply observes the choices you freely make. The outcome is determined by your free will, God just already sees your choice.
@abdullahk3_ @hooverboard0@TheDunkCentral@JoelXLorenzi@Fullcourtpass A robot has no free will. It runs your code, so you are at fault. God did not create robots. He created free beings. Knowing a choice will happen is not the same as forcing it. We are responsible for our own actions, just like an adult child is, not their parents.
@hooverboard0@TheDunkCentral@JoelXLorenzi@Fullcourtpass If God stopped all harm, free will would be an illusion and we would be puppets. For love to be a real choice, the consequences of bad choices must be real too. God allows the terrible cost of freedom because a world capable of genuine, unforced love is worth it.
@hooverboard0@TheDunkCentral@JoelXLorenzi@Fullcourtpass God knowing the future does not mean He forces our choices. Also, we do not inherit personal guilt from the first humans, but rather a fractured world. Redeeming innocent children is about rescuing them from this tragedy, not forgiving them for things they never did.
@hubermanlab Can genes influence certain emotional tendencies? For example, if a father was very short tempered, could their child also absorb that tendency?
