@taylorsschumann Waiting for my third Instacart order of the past 3 days to arrive so our Covid-positive selves can make gingerbread houses as a break from endless sitting on the couch 🥴😐
Deep breaths. No matter how this night (or week) goes, please know that you matter, your family matters, your future matters. You deserve equal rights. You deserve to feel safe. No matter how this goes, you are far from alone and life is worth living. We’re in this together.
I live in a state that’s “opened up,” and we have the second highest number of cases per capita in the nation. We’ve set record numbers of current cases for the past 6 days. So why do we want to be “opened up?” #Debate2020
@emilykmay@shannanwrites Some stories are more straightforward and the kids develop normally, but trauma is tricky and affects everyone differently and a more difficult process to adopt could help parents have more of a chance to learn about the realities of parenting a kiddo with a trauma history
@emilykmay@shannanwrites IMO, it should be difficult because it IS difficult. So many adoptive families think the child will come into their home and adjust easily because they’re “raised right.” But childhood trauma (even just separation from birth parents) has so many more long-lasting effects
@shannanwrites@abbynormansays Sometimes when I roast veggies I add an egg right to the sheet pan for the last 10 minutes or so. I’m not an egg lover at all and I LOVE them that way!
