@JGreenbergSez@itamarbengvir because your efforts are so darn important and have had what effect exactly? these terrorists supporters have been tolerated for too long. they should be treated with the contempt they deserve.
BREAKING: Live look at western university campuses after they learned that over 12,000 unarmed Iranian civilians have been massacred by the Islamic Republic.
@HowidyHamza That same "president" would not allow gazans to cross over into Sinai to get them out of harms way. Save your condemnation for Arab leaders who cynically perpetuate the cause of Palestinianism in order to mask their governments failings. You can't.
@kareem_1087 we saw the gazans "opposition" demonstarted on Oct 7th. Your society was not hijacked by Hamas it was the furtil breeding ground for their murderous ideology. Hamas was voted in by a majority of Gazans.
@aziz0nomics In the Middle East, land is sacred โ not real estate.
It is not just geography but identity, memory, and covenant.
A people who surrender their land are not seen as generous โ but as a people who have surrendered their soul.
@Partisan_12 I think John is upset that Hamas, Hizballah, Iran, and Yemen couldn't ethnically cleanse the Jews this time around. No matter how much he prophesied that Israel would lose the war we stubbornly refused to do so. Happy we could disappoint him.
In a breathtaking and emotional scene last night, Matan Angrest, who was freed from Hamas captivity only two days prior, spoke at the funeral of his IDF commander Daniel Perez, whose body was returned to Israel hours after Matan was freed.
On October 7, Matan fought for hours against Hamas terrorists at the Nahal Oz outpost alongside Tomer Leibovitz, 19, Itay Chen, 19, and Daniel, 22, their commander.
The only survivor of that battle, Matan was kidnapped alive into Gaza, while Daniel and Itayโs bodies were taken into the strip. Itayโs body is yet to return home.
In a demonstration of just how important it was for Matan to be at Danielโs funeral, Rabbi Doron, Danielโs father, noted that Matanโs doctor told him not to go, and in turn, the Perez family told Matan not to come.
But Matan insisted on leaving his hospital in Tel Aviv, and despite not having written a speech, and notwithstanding that, as he told those gathered, โI can barely stand,โ he eulogized his commander for six minutes, leaving the funeralโs attendees speechless.
โThis is the least I can do for Daniel and for my entire team โ true heroes,โ Matan said. โI didnโt plan to speak. I didnโt even believe Iโd make it here. But I had to come.โ
โDaniel led our heroic battle that Saturday,โ Matan noted, calling him โa figure to be admired. My commander will always be my commander, until the day I die. You will go with me until my last day and even in the world to come.โ
At one point during his speech, Matan turned to the Perez family, saying: โI promise to be there for this family for life โ Iโm not leaving you, not for a second. Daniel is with me everywhere I go, just like Itay and Tomer. They are part of me. Iโm proud we defended Israel under Danielโs command. He is my hero and will always be my commander.โ
As for Itay, whose body is still in Gaza, Matan declared: โIโm ready to go back into Gaza right now to bring him back.โ
So astonishing and moving was Matanโs spontaneous speech that the moment he finished, the entire crowd broke into applause โ something that simply does not happen at IDF funerals.
There are many things I could say about Matanโs speech and what it says about him and the State of Israel โ but I believe it speaks for itself.
