Australian teacher resigned May 2023. Infected x 3. First waver from colleague returning from China. Developed LC/POTS/thrombosis. Education/NDIS/Social justice
This week I officially resigned from my permanent teaching position.
I will no longer be complicit witnessing students be continually reinfected with SARS.I was also harassed by staff for masking.
@AEUfederal@AusGovEducation you have failed children, teachers & their families.
@Mark_Butler_MP All because you didn't mandate clean air in hospitals, daycare centres, kindergarten, or schools. You should be ashamed by your lack of effort to stop SARS2.
@VicGovDH good messaging - unfortunately the message is not being heard in the community
no govt messaging whatsoever from any level of government. Media are not interested
Covid will remain a huge issue for all of us but a tweet here isn’t cutting thru no matter how well intentioned
@VicGovDH We have nearly 7M people in Victoria. This is a very low level of reach. Roll it out on MSM. I've never seen the correct Public Health messaging being advertised on TV or MSM in Australia.
Last night i watched a Insta reel of ppl who had no idea they'd been using their Hepa filters with the internal filters still wrapped in plastic. Thousands of comments with ppl saying they'd checked & same.
This is probably where pools of people who say Hepa & masks dont work🤦🏻♀️
@Graemeinnes Great article. As an OT, I see many people who would benefit from the noise-cancelling headphones and earplugs described. Sadly these are no longer funded by NDIS due to the new Support Lists. Can they pls be added to the 'in list' as effective low-cost assistive technology?
Genuine question for our major political parties - what is on the cards this election to ease housing pressures?
The LNP have offered a “super for housing” policy which, according to their own modelling, will increase the cost of purchasing a home for everyone, and will only be accessible to those who can already almost afford to buy a house (completely ignoring those who will be forced to rent for their entire lives)
And the Labor party have instead said they’d build a bunch of houses in the next two decades. Their own experts have said they won’t meet this target, and their own modelling shows that even if they did (which they won’t), this increase in supply will not even meet their own projected demand levels let alone ease housing affordability
Do they both genuinely not have anything on the table at all? If anyone wants some free election policies I’m happy to give them some
either way this crowing about IT’S THE VACCINE — which is not just coming from bots (they’re in all my inboxes) — is not just wrong in many cases, it also contributes to the stigma and difficulty getting good care so many patients face
what gets me is they’re unconcerned about what’s happening to these people even if they are vax injured.
it’s long covid because covid infection triggered their illness. some may also have vax injury, which can look similar to lc, but many lc patients have never been vaxxed
Nicole's lips turned blue as she battled long COVID, but she refused to quit her sport.
"She continued to play after battling COVID-19 and pneumonia, even though she would wake in the night struggling to breathe."

@BigBadDenis@JacintaAllanMP Tens of millions dead from COVID, half a billion with long COVID worldwide but @DjokerNole (who’s worth US$240 MILLION from hitting a ball over a net) is “traumatised”
Zero perspective
@JacintaAllanMP is a disgrace
Artists, writers, filmmakers: Please integrate COVID into your cultural work. Avoiding COVID in your content erases a critical part of history. And we all know what horrible things can happen when we as a society fail to learn from history.
I asked ChatGPT if you could live on Jobseeker.
It said: ‘The math shows JobSeeker barely covers even the most basic shared living arrangements. Recipients typically must:
•Share housing with multiple people
•Live in cheaper/remote areas
