Pat was right in the thick of a make-or-break, four-night run at Tramps, a legendary little spot in Manhattan. Up until those gigs, she’d been grinding like crazy on the local circuit—doing amateur nights at comedy clubs, singing jingles for Pepsi, and basically doing whatever it took to keep the dream alive while waiting for that one big break.

But those showcases at Tramps changed everything. She absolutely leveled the place, tearing through a mix of fierce rock tunes and heavy ballads that put her jaw-dropping, four-and-a-half-octave range on full display. The energy in the room was so electric that the talent scouts from Chrysalis Records didn't even hesitate—they signed her to a deal the very next week.

Did you know the title Clayman came from frontman Anders Fridén going through a brutal breakup? 💔 He envisioned a "Clayman" as a malleable, miserable figure molding himself to fit into every situation, representing his own struggle to become a "rock solid human".
