I’m not painting myself into a corner saying Dallas MUST go get DeForest Buckner. I’m talking about the collective responsibility of this front office to continue looking for ways to improve this football team!

Look at what’s happening around the league. The Seattle Seahawks just acquired Quenton Nelson, and now the San Francisco 49ers are reportedly exploring a move for DeForest Buckner. That’s potentially a counter move within their own division!

THAT’S MY POINT!

If you’re serious about being competitive, you cannot stop looking for ways to improve your roster just because you won a football game!

You can celebrate the victory AND continue evaluating talent. TWO THINGS CAN BE TRUE!

It’s not easy as you think it’s a lot going on behind closed doors I can’t say. I will say this they have no control it’s all laid out each season. To be fair, I don’t agree with everything President Trump does, but that doesn’t mean I have to leave the country. The same principle applies to the Dallas Cowboys!

I’ve been following this team since before Jerry Jones bought it, and I’ll still be here long after the Jones family is gone, whenever that day comes.

Pointing out flaws, questioning decisions, and holding leadership accountable doesn’t mean you hate the team. It means you care enough to want better!

Being a fan doesn’t mean you have to blindly agree with every decision the organization makes. You can celebrate the victories and still recognize the problems that need fixing.

My loyalty is to the Dallas Cowboys, not to whoever happens to own or run the franchise.

The defense is still going to give up plenty of yards and big plays, but you HAVE to win the time of possession (TOP) and turnover battles!

You have to find ways to squeeze out victories while learning and improving along the way!

Remember, you have a SECOND-YEAR HEAD COACH in Brian Schottenheimer and a FIRST-YEAR DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR in Christian Parker.

Now, here’s something people need to understand about this defensive coaching staff!

Christian Parker is only 34 years old, yet he has the MOST NFL DEFENSIVE COACHING EXPERIENCE on the staff at eight years! I went through the defensive coaching staff, and everyone else has fewer years of experience than Parker!

Think about that! Your 34-year-old, first-year defensive coordinator is also your MOST EXPERIENCED defensive coach!

That’s not a knock on his age or ability. That’s about understanding the experience level of the people responsible for developing and leading this defense!

This team is still learning, growing, and figuring things out. But that doesn’t mean we stop holding them accountable!
