The reason woke was so pervasive (and still is) is because they went after the money. ESG scores made it very painful for companies that didn't go woke. You can't just ban trans in women's sports and say you defeated woke. You need to put all of their oligarchs in prison and you need to take go woke go broke to the institutions.

This is why the Republicans are bad at governing, all they do is play defense and try to roll back gains from the left. You need to go on offense. You need to take enemy territory not just go back to status quo. Status quo just leaves a vacuum that will be filled by woke again.

Why isn't there government grants for companies that commit to hiring White men to redress the discrimination of the last 20 years?

Why isn't there an ESG replacement that says that if you discriminate against White men or implement woke policies you lose all funding?

No one is criticizing the scientific method. If the people saying “trust the science” had even an ounce of intellectual curiosity, they’d know this from engaging seriously with their critics. People have lost trust in Science the Institution, i.e. the way science is actually done in the real world. We can’t talk about science like it’s abstracted away from who funds it, who disseminates it, who does peer review, who writes papers. That entire metaprocess is completely fucked and untrustworthy, and it actually materially affects the quality of work being done

We were subjected to years of “young men are becoming radicalized, what’s driving this and how do we stop it?” discourse when in reality the typical young man saw practically zero change in his political outlook over the last 30 years.

The whole thing was one giant attempt to gaslight both young men and the public at large that they had suddenly moved well outside the Overton window and were either self-radicalizing or falling for extremist propaganda.

In reality, the problem was that young men were staying put rather than adopting increasingly radical progressive views. The real issue was that young women were flying off the rails, espousing views that would lead to the complete dissolution of civilization itself while acting like these were basic normal positions that completely sane people should hold.

That disconnect between what was being said and what was being done became so off kilter with reality that something finally began to break after 2020.

The problem isn’t with young men. The problem is that young women have gone certifiably insane. They’ve made radical progressivism their religion. They’re acting out on the perfectly healthy female tendency to act to uphold and preserve the existing social order.

Young women are trying to conserve an ideology they see as the stable bedrock of society, even if it’s actually an acidic collection of delusions that will inevitably destroy society itself. And they’re upset that young men aren’t doing what they see as their role to uphold that order as well.

In short, women are natural conservatives. They’re trying to conserve progressivism because it’s the reigning social order and theological governing system of Western civilization. And they’re upset and confused as to why young men aren’t stepping up to uphold it as well.

Luci Yanks the Football Again.

We've been hearing that, finally, Hollywood gave us a non-woke action movie: Project Hail Mary. So I watched it last night at the theater.

Fuck.

Granted, the movie has a white male lead and no gay sex. You might wonder what price we paid for those generous concessions to reality.

Here are the prices we paid:

The White Male is the ONLY white male.

Seriously. The movie features a big team of engineers tasked with saving the world. Half of them are women, and the other half are non-Whites.

Yeah, with everyone's life at stake, we are definitely purging White men from the engineering team.

Other than the one lead, the sole White males are a couple of guys standing in the back of the crowd, and about an hour in, one white guy gets a single line of dialog. A short line. Not funny.

The rest is chicks, asians, and browns.

The project leader: A woman.

The ship captain: Another woman.

We even get a scientist Shaniqua.

Ah, but at least there is no gay sex!

In fact, the movie has no sex or romance at all. The closest it comes is one scene at a party, where a couple, contemplating the end of the world, is obviously gearing up to boink.

Yeah, you guessed it: It's a white woman with a black dude.

But still, the hero is a White male! You may wonder why Hollywood tolerated such an abomination.

Because he's no hero. He's an effeminate beta, and he's a coward. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't....

Fuck that. This movie deserves no respect, so I will spoil it. The White male lead was literally the only guy who could save the world, but he refused to do it because he wouldn't have a way home after.

Of course, if he refused, he would die anyway because everyone would die. He acknowledged that.

Then he still refused, because he was a coward. When he said that, he cried.

So a woman ordered him drugged and forced aboard the rescue ship.

That's our White male hero.

Here is the bravest thing he did: He jeopardized the lives of EVERY member of his own species, to save an alien.

Does that remind you of anything?

You don't hate Hollywood enough, and I'm depressed that we have grown so desperate that some of us are willing to count this movie as not woke.

As a young girl I remember always being told,

“You can be whatever you want to be!!”

From an astronaut to a doctor, a lawyer, a vet, you could do it all. But there was always this pesky little condition: your dreams had to be big. They had to sound impressive.

Nobody ever said they wanted to be a mom, or a housekeeper, or a trash truck driver, or a waitress, or a dad, or a gardener, or a secretary, or anything common, normal, and ordinary.

You could be anything you wanted, so long as it was something grand.

You couldn’t dream of a simple life, of marriage, a home, and a handful of kids, because that was a “waste” of potential. That was “settling.”

So now we have an entire generation of people who think marriage, children and normal lives are failures, when in reality these are the single most important things most of us will ever have, or ever do.

These are the pillars of society, and yet they are the one dream we are told we shouldn’t have.

we built an individualistic civilization hostile to families and children
where having kids means financial sacrifice, career death or social isolation, where the default assumption is "maybe later, probably never"
where every institution from schools to media to medicine treats parenthood as optional, if not inconvenient, lifestyle choice rather than civilizational necessity
even worse, institutions actively teach kids that having kids is BAD! especially if they look like you

you can't incentivize your way out of a culture that doesn't want to exist

the fertility crisis has never been policy failure
it's a meaning failure
and no tax credit fixes that

There's a disconnect between boomers and younger generations. Boomers point at gadgets that didn't exist when they were young, but which are available in abundance now, wonder how anyone could have all this and feel poor, and conclude kids these days are lazy and spoiled.

Kids these days point to social conditions that existed in abundance when boomers were young - friends, careers, houses, marriages - which have become more difficult to obtain than ever, and wonder how boomers could be so cluelessly out of touch as to not notice how the fundamentals of life have become scarce even as the gadgetry has proliferated.
