My mom was stopped and harassed by masked ICE agents while shopping at an outlet mall in Texas. Because she has an accent, they assumed she spoke Spanish and started talking to her in Spanish. When she said she doesn’t speak Spanish, they began demanding where she was “from,” rapidly listing countries without even giving her a chance to respond.

My mom told them she’s been in this country longer than some of them have been alive. She was only allowed to leave after showing a photo of her U.S. passport on her phone.

She is a U.S. citizen. She has lived in this country for 47 years. If you think this is just about “sending criminals back,” you are dead wrong.

Trump has a worse criminal record than nearly ALL the people he is arresting and attempting to deport. Less than 1 in 10 undocumented people has a criminal record. The majority who do, have low level offenses like traffic violation. Who is the real public safety threat?

@PabloReports There will be a lot more of this especially on here and other social media. Right wing accounts will try to show that Trump is delivering on his promises. Left wing/advocacy will try to spread news of raids to fundraise...neither will deliver legislation that will solve any issue

Undocumented immigrants are in violation of civil law, NOT criminal law. Fewer than 1 of 10 undocumented immigrants has a criminal record. Of those that do, most have records for traffic offenses & pose absolutely no public safety threat.
