Ah yeah, the ‘most unlikeable player’ in the Premier League. What a boring narrative.
Here’s just one of many stories of why Bruno Fernandes is a wonderful human being.
Last year, a young fan called Bobby Moore sent a letter this favourite player after Bruno commented on a video of him celebrating a Manchester United goal.
Bobby, who has spinal muscular atrophy but still plays powerchair football, told Bruno how much he loves watching him.
Instead of reading the letter and leaving it there, Bruno invited Bobby and his family to Carrington, surprised him in person, introduced him to the squad, and made sure the whole day felt special.
Bruno didn’t stop there.. he gave the young fan tickets to the next Manchester derby, and told him that he’d be leading the team out with him.
That day, Bobby became the FIRST EVER wheelchair mascot to lead out the team at Old Trafford.
Bruno gave him his match-worn shirt and gave him another day to remember for life.
So yeah, we can run this ‘unlikeable’ gimmick because he flaps his arms around. But moments like that? That’s the type of man Bruno Fernandes is.
