Tributes have been paid to Dame Penelope Keith, who has died aged 86.

The actress is best known for her portrayal of Margo Leadbeatter in 1970s sitcom The Good Life - but she appeared in a number of sitcoms.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Dame Penelope Keith died peacefully whilst living with cancer at her home in Surrey where she had lived for more than 50 years," her family said in a statement on Monday.

“The family is grateful for the care and support she received throughout her treatments and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.

@YourGuinness I'm annoyed with you! Yesterday I tried to report/request a repair online (I don't do phone calls because I'm speech impaired). More specifically I have just been told about a broken window in my bathroom. Your website required that I remember a password that I last used years ago and because I didn't/couldn't comply I was unable to proceed. I did try several times to get a password reset link but I'm still waiting.
You need to improve as this isn't acceptable. I live in the NG5 area.

I will never forgive him for his underhand tactics that he contrived to attempt to put the poorly drafted Assisted Suicide Bill.
He knew full well that this would have led to the slaughter of thousands of vulnerable people just to save a few poxy quid.
