@GeneRoyChicago This specific Sergeant told me he’s never seen/heard so many PO’s leave/wanting to leave in his 25+ years of service.
And according to my CPD sources, it sounds like it’s going to get much worse than an equivalent to 1 district.
@GeneRoyChicago I should have clarified that my sources are not just from CPD, it’s across Illinois.
A Sergeant from a suburb told me he’s spoken to many officers in/surrounding his town and they are getting out. Some to join the alphabet agencies and some going into the private sector.
I’m sick of this shit. How many people need to be murdered? How many lives torn apart? Until it actually stops?
We don’t have to live like this. And we don’t have to die like this.
Last month, Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez publicly said he wanted fewer cops in his ward.
Yesterday, he asked people to stop shooting each other for 48 hours because too many are being gunned down.
Shootings in his ward are up 132% since he became alderman.
