@acheriath1 i agree and he is the only one who seems to be truly regretful and conscious of his malicious behavior (unlike Claudius) #hamlit

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

V.II Likely that G knew cup was posioned + drank to protect H. very rare for queen to disobey king. wipes H face motherly as goodbye #hamlit

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

V.I Gravedigger's remarks anger H since he "must speak by the card" - ironic since H spoke same way, indirectly with morbid jokes #hamlit

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

IV. Ophelia going mad is ironic. Hamlet feigned madness to kill the King, but ended up killing P first, which helped drive O mad. #hamlit

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

H feels no guilt/fear. M is scared of consequences. H wants to kill for his father, M wants to kill for personal gain #hamlit (2/2)

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

IV. IV. H motivating himself to finally avenge his father's death is similar to Macbeth convincing himself to kill the King #hamlit (1/2)

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@cgugsluvslit #hamlit I think it shows how badly H wants revenge. If H killed C at prayer, C would go to heaven instead of suffering in hell

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

...while also insulting P's manipulation of his own daughter + self absorption since J sacrificed his daughter to win a battle #hamlit (2/2)

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

II.II H refers to P as "Jephthah, judge of Israel" to continue convincing ppl of his "madness" #hamlit (1/2)

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

I.II "A little more than kin and less than kind" exemplifies H's anger towards the king's incest and his contempt for the situation #hamlit

The depressing ending explains Ethan's tragedy. Discuss “And I say, if she'd ha' died, Ethan might ha' lived…” (157) #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@LibbyCarter19 The broken disk represents how Mattie might break Ethan's marriage as she (indirectly) broke the dish, forever changing it

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@jose_velazquez could represent Ethan's permanent responsibility to stay with Zeena, stuck in the cold, depressing time. #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@jose_velazquez things often get stuck during the winter time, snowed in, too cold to leave. [cont] #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

#falzfrome I believe the cat to be a physical embodiment of Zeena's invisible presence, reminding them of what they are doing and of reality

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

During Mattie & Ethan's time alone, the cat frequently interrupts them. The importance of the cat's symbolism should be discussed #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@cploveslit could this infatuation stem from Mattie's devotion and compliance that Zeena never gave him? #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

“He luxuriated in the sense of protection and authority which his words conveyed" Ethan relishes in his own power over Mattie #falzfrome ...

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@cgugsluvslit mattie is compared to the warm summer & zeena with a bitterness. the drastic contrast embodies ethan's feelings #falzfrome

[claudia prandoni @cploveslit]

@cgugsluvslit like a wheat-field under a summer breeze (79) vs like a knife-cut across the sinews (102) #falzfrome
