@damintoell @JsonBasedman I’m guessing the first up-tick was due to cholera due to bad sanitation and the second due to the 1918 influenza pandemic. The steep fall in the last century was due to vaccinations, antibiotics and the pasteurization of milk.

I propose that one thing that gives away whether a person is a native speaker of a language or not is whether they make the same mistakes a native speaker would make. If you make a mistake that a native wouldn’t it stands out like a sore thimble.

@Guytexts1 @FWPlayboy Point being, it was written in 1973. The VHS tape was introduced in 1976. This means that the fantasies that were recorded had not actually been seen by the women. They genuinely came out of the interviewee's minds. It couldn't be written today.
