Maybe it's my age, but my confidence in any public institution is waning dramatically. Deep underfunding, constant political horseshit, misappropriated funds, scandals, dumb decisions. Are we really doing good or fixing things? Where are all the real leaders?

We have gotten too comfortable with debt. We complain about falling behind, yet many( including govts) spend a lot of $$ paying the costs of debt. That's lost personal and sovereign wealth and financial security.

It's getting harder in today's world, but consistent, disciplined effort will deliver far more results in anything you are doing vs. quick wins, and easy effort.

There are lots of social and economic reasons why things are a mess right now, but a society that encourages feelings (directly or indirectly) over facts, accountability, responsibility and respect is the fuel to the fire.

How much $ are these 'Protect Ontario' ads costing taxpayers. Is it adding any value? Does govt even track ROI? Cutting education and healthcare and then running ads to tell people how great we are is not a great look.

We don't have a carbon problem, we have a consumption problem. Consume less of everything, and you will produce less carbon. Pushback is that the economy in the western world is built on consumption.

Our mobile carrier had been calling for the last few years trying to upgrade our phones, but never mentioned that we had been paying twice as much for service as we could be. You need to do your homework and be on top of everything in a world where everyone wants your $$.
