The vast majority of the department is called on to work extended shifts on July 4th. To support these Officers, members of the CPPOA leadership team organized a barbecue for our on-duty members to enjoy a meal during their shifts. We wish all a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Congratulations to CPD Officer JJ Jones who was recently recognized by State Representative Jessica Giannino of the 16th Suffolk District of Massachusetts as part of this year’s Black Excellence on the Hill event.

Not a typical service call – an officer was approached about aggressive turkeys and was able to manage the situation until Animal Control arrived. Each day our officers handle a wide range of service calls in an effort to keep our community safe. We’re here if you need us.

Cambridge Fire and mutual aid partners responded to a two- alarm fire yesterday on Francis Ave. CPD Officers were on-hand to assist with traffic control and scene safety. No injuries were reported. Job well done by @CambridgeMAFire and partner agencies in challenging conditions.
