Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, addressed Civil Services Officer Trainees at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh, today.
The Vice-President recalled the inauguration of the new NACIN campus by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2024, noting that the institution has emerged as a premier centre for capacity-building in Customs and GST administration.
Speaking on the role of civil servants in achieving Viksit Bharat @2047, he underscored the importance of last-mile delivery, teamwork, and inclusive growth.
He urged officers to prioritise team excellence over individual excellence, and emphasised the need for continuous learning and reform-oriented thinking.
Encouraging trainees to embrace emerging technologies—AI, NLP, ML, Blockchain—the Vice-President said technology offers immense opportunities for transparency, efficiency, and citizen service delivery.
He described IGOT Karmayogi as an “excellent platform” for anytime, anywhere capacity-building.
The event was attended by the Hon'ble Minister for HRD, IT, Electronics & Communication and RTG, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Lokesh; the Secretary to the Vice-President of India, Shri Amit Khare; the Director-General of NACIN, Dr. Subramanyam, and other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-President lauded Karnataka’s rich culture and heritage and acknowledged Kannada as one of the richest languages, which has been honoured with the Classical Language status. Speaking on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he underscored the flexibility it offers, allowing students to pursue interdisciplinary subjects and rewarding diligence and hard work.
Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan stressed the judicious use of social media by students to balance connectivity with productivity. Despite the intense competition today, he encouraged them to seize the many emerging opportunities.
