I often see folks on X averaging down to lower the cost basis but this doesn't change the fact that the absolute dollar loss is unchanged.
The original dollars are still down significantly.
The lower cost basis is an illusion until total break even.
Break even is asymmetrical with losses. For example a 30% drop will require a 42% gain to break even.
Every dollar used to average down is a dollar that cannot be deployed into a leading name that's not in a stage 4 pattern.
$GOOGL is down 5% in the pre-market due massive capex spending which created a negative FCF.
I see this spending a positive for the stock long term as it will create more revenue and higher EPS.
Don't doubt the megas!
Holding shares long!
$NOW - $95.46, with a nice Q2 earnings report.
The stock is now building a stage 1 pattern as it looks to end the stage 4 drawdown.
A move above a flattening 200d ma would be very encouraging for placing a position.
Watching.

I sold $NFLX back in November after holding for years.
It's down 31% since the sell and struggling in a stage 4.
I do believe it will recover in the future. When, I have no idea.
It needs to get creative again and toss the woke programming.
No position.
$META - $670.96, with a monster week, +15% on above average volume.
The stock is up $130 over the past three weeks as it has recoved the 200d ma.

"I was on the board of my kids' school during COVID. I wanted a harsher lockdown policy. In retrospect: I was wrong. The damage to kids of keeping them out of school longer was greater than the risk. But here's the bottom line: We were doing our best. But let's give a little grace and forgiveness for the shit show that was COVID."
Funny how the people who created and promoted the shit show want forgiveness
This is amazing.
Scott Galloway on Elon Musk's "nazi salutes" (which didn't actually happen) vs. Scott Galloway on Graham Platner's nazi tattoo.
What a broken mind. What an absolute clown.
$META - $631.48, up 8% this week as it closed just below the 200d ma.
Can is recover the 200d/40wk and start a new uptrend or will it get rejected again, like March?

equal footing ignores reality. One program was built with decades of structural advantages. The other is trying to break into the most competitive sport on the planet while starting several steps behind with endless options for other major American sports.
Why is the US the best in the world with women's soccer while the men's team can barely compete.
The USWNT spent decades with a massive structural advantage. Title IX poured resources into women's sports, the best US female athletes stayed here, elite college programs became a

The US loses its best male athletes to the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and other US sports.

Soccer is America's 5th major league sport, behind baseball, football, basketball and hockey.
Our best athletes go to the 4 majors.
It's Belgium's top major sport.
And Belgium is scared, threatening lawyers...?
Comical.
Win the game, your game, and hats off.
