@FinancialPhys Had an elderly client contact us after hiring one of these companies (he didn’t know it at the time). They told him his house was collapsing and managed to run him up almost 6 figures (cash from his retirement) injecting surface cracks and coming up with nonsense to charge him
@alexL_E_I One of our apush teachers was a pretty typical if eccentric history teacher, but the other used to make nuclear warheads for the military before teaching and spent multiple lessons vague dropping conspiracy theories and going “that’s kind a weird isn’t it?”
1998 might be the best year to be born
- Grew up watching all the great movies from the 90s on VHS
- Played san andreas on your older brother's PS2 and mario on your uncles nintendo 64
- Watched the golden age of pixar in theaters
- Play xbox 360 as a teen
- Good music
Triple inverted pendulum in transition control
A classic control problem, done in real time.
This setup moves smoothly between all eight equilibrium points of a triple inverted pendulum.
The system reacts every 1 millisecond, which shows how fast modern control loops can be.
• Real-time control at 1 ms sampling
• Stable transitions between multiple balance points
• Built with Simulink and LW-RCP02 hardware
This is a beautiful example of how theory meets practice in advanced control engineering.

The reason why RAM has become four times more expensive is that a huge amount of RAM that has not yet been produced was purchased with non-existent money to be installed in GPUs that also have not yet been produced, in order to place them in data centers that have not yet been built, powered by infrastructure that may never appear, to satisfy demand that does not actually exist and to obtain profit that is mathematically impossible.
@Iosersexual As someone who used to try any and everything to run games on my mom’s old Acer notebook, I’m just amazed you got 16bit rivals to run at all. Hats off.
@Ganglosaxonnne Conspiracy theorists had me thinking the Freemasons were some shadow government entity. Then I did a clay pigeon charity event at their lodge and it’s all just older/middle age guys who donate to charity and want some community.
@I__HATE_SOCCER Imagine being a child who watched FMA in like 2007, then getting to watch Brotherhood come out with all the updated animation and better ending? Spoiled, I was spoiled.
@SolTheStreamer@SarahBurssty My mom has dual citizenship so we go up to Nova Scotia every year, travel around further west occasionally. It’s very nice, the people are kind, but outside of cities it’s very quiet, can feel isolating, and a lot of businesses are seasonally/sporadically open esp. in winter
@DiabolicalSpuds I met some Irish folk on vacation when I was a kid. They showed me where all the pubs were that didn’t card tourists, took us up to the roof of a hotel to drink, and they wouldn’t even let me buy my own smokes they just kept offering their own. Amazing people. Amazing country.
@SixthManJake I’m from Mass, I’ll be a Celtics fan till I die, but this game was absolutely disgusting. And Pat Bev grabbing that camera is actually the funniest thing I’ll ever see on live television
