The Computer Professionals' Union welcomes the recent decision of the House of Representatives to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte. It is a clear win for the Filipino people, who have long called for accountability from corrupt government officials such as Duterte.
The impeachment of Sara Duterte serves as a warning to other government officials in the Marcos Jr. administration who have long used their position to pocket the people's money.

President Marcos Jr., instead of heeding the demand of the people for accountability and justice, is the one stalling the impeachment of Sara Duterte in an attempt to preserve his power.
The NBI must be held accountable for neglecting to safeguard the data they were entrusted to protect, and accountable for the long term implications on the exposed personal information even more cases of targeted scams, fraud, identity theft and many other forms of cybercrime.
