awesome thing about Aotearoa is there are two green parrots, one is this lovely sweet giant- the other is a kea that will Pretend to be a kakapo specifically to rob tourists. It Will pickpocket you. It Will climb into your car and take things. They Purposely target passports
Was getting a little flustered thinking I overcooked the potatoes and my bf goes “potatoes are very forgiving” and it was just so powerful I hope everyone can one day experience the forgiveness of a potato
@inuyarasha_@southseasml When I went there in 2010, their accents were indistinguishable from people on the mainland, and I assume that hasn’t changed in the last 16 years. Iirc, most of them leave the Chatham’s to attend high school, so I imagine that has something to do with it.
My mother had me at 21 and two of my grandparents died before I entered high school. My dad died when I was 6. Focusing on stuff like this is only serves to maximise your own misery.
@HerDreadsRock Don’t most kids love doing stuff like that anyway? When I was that age I enjoyed packing my own lunch and doing my own laundry because it made me feel like a grown up.
@sacaeplains When a new game comes out, I’ll usually get obsessed and take my console with me everywhere, playing it on the bus, while cooking dinner, on my lunch break at work, etc.
There are only a couple of other game franchises that do that to me.
@ps1loadscreen I somehow completely missed this story and have had to google it and it happened in a town I’ve never even heard of. I can’t tell if you’re exaggerating how widespread the story was or if I’m just very oblivious.
I think it’s easy to forget we all live in our own little bubbles sometimes. I remember the 2018 census making a big deal over the country being nearly 50% non-religious, when I’d have sworn on my life that that number was like 95%.
@thereisnobeth I grew up in the supposed Anglican part of the country and I don’t think I’d even heard of Anglicanism until I was like 20. I met like 5 religious people before adulthood and they were all Catholic.
@thereisnobeth@cinderrpaw The last three times I’ve played 3.5 I went straight into Rage Mage, because yeah martials don’t get that much to do normally and Rage Mage is my favourite way to supplement a martial character with magic.
