El Niño is expected to intensify into a very strong event in the coming months, peaking towards the end of 2026. It is expected to have big impacts on rainfall & temperature patterns, increasing the risk of floods, droughts & extreme heat.

El Niño is being supersized before our eyes.
The science is clear: Sea surface temperatures are rising, temperatures keep climbing & the world is in the danger zone of extreme weather.
The race now is between rising risks & our commitment to take #ClimateAction & protect people.
We must win that race.
🇺🇳 The UN weather agency has never been this sure about El Niño...
WMO now has the chance it lasts through February 2027 at nearly 100 percent, the first time its forecast has been that blunt.
Pacific surface waters are already 2.2 to 2.6°C above normal. In places below the surface, the anomaly has topped 8°C.
A very strong event does not hit every country the same way. It usually means drought and fire risk in Australia and Indonesia, heavier rains in East Africa and the southern United States, and a hotter globe into 2027.
The pattern is natural... but the intensity isn't normal at all!

🌡️ El Niño is firmly established and will intensify into a very strong event in the coming months. WMO forecasts show ~100% likelihood that it will persist through February 2027.
A very strong El Niño ≠ same impacts everywhere.
🆕 WMO El Nino Update: https://t.co/KUPq04jjkT
Super El Niño was trending on X yesterday.
It has been trending on TikTok for a while.
Yet it will peak towards the end of the year.
This time last year, we were debating the 3i atlas comet.
Turned out into a big nothing.
Still run to 1,5mil as memecoin (on bonk 😭)
Now, Super El Niño is a bit different.
Its effects will be felt by everyone in the world.
And for a long time (till next year).
Currently at 63k marketcap. Free.
Holding till year end..

El Niño is predicted to become the strongest ever observed in September, beginning a six-month run at record strength with a peak of +4.15°C.
That's according to the new CanSIPS model update, which also suggests that La Niña is possible during the second half of 2027.

Since we live at peak fearmongering and collective paranoia, it would be probable to assume the SUPER El Niño topic gets hotter and hotter, with people interpreting events around them as El Niño causality.
"What caused the Nepal mudslide?"
"What the fuck is this heat?"
"Why is it raining in the weirdest places?"
"Why are crops failing?"
"Why are certain diseases on the rise?"
It will all lead back to SUPER El Niño.
