I honestly can't believe I am having to write this BUT...
Jesus was a Jew from Judea (literally where the Jews lived).
Originally the region was Judea in the south and Samaria in the centre. That wasn’t branding. That was who lived there.
A little history for those who need it.
After the Bar Kokhba revolt (132–135 CE) the Romans crushed Judea hard. Note the date. It's important.
As punishment they:
•Renamed Judea to Syria Palaestina
•Folded it into the larger Roman province of Syria
•Banned Jews from Jerusalem
This wasn’t administrative tidying. It was political spite.
The name Palaestina was chosen to erase Jewish identity by referencing the ancient Philistines, long gone enemies of ancient Israel.
So:
•Judea and Samaria existed first
•Palestina did not replace them until the mid-2nd century CE
•And it was imposed by Rome as a form of collective punishment
Which means anyone claiming Jesus was “Palestinian” is about 100 years too early and missing the entire point of why the name even exists.
History is awkward like that. Facts matter.
