Quick question
Does Guehi ever pass forward?
England were trying to press to win a game all second half, all he ever passed to was his other CB or the keeper
@jamie47631@realsamarsharma@adamrowecomedy The pathway was there at Liverpool. Salah had 2 years left on his contract. Would have been starter last year whilst Diomande was out on loan, then Diomande comes in this year to learn from and split time with Salah, before taking over fully in 27-28 season
@realsamarsharma@adamrowecomedy A smart move would have been to buy him for £20m last year and loan him for a year. Even after a pretty average season he would hold his value
@CryptoIronsCOYI@VillainBaller And the point of the original tweet is that smaller clubs are overpricing players because the big clubs keep paying it
Smaller clubs are also facilitating this by overpaying for average players from even smaller clubs
@CryptoIronsCOYI@VillainBaller So now you’re changing from spending, to net spend?
Both Liv and WHU have recouped about £400m in that 4 year period
So you ‘spent’ £250m, we ‘spent’ £450m in 4 years
We don’t compete for the same players I agree, but you should be nowhere near relegation with your spending
@CryptoIronsCOYI@VillainBaller I do agree though, money starts at the top.
Championship clubs are now regularly spending £10-20m on players. That’s absurd
The greed is filtering all the way down the pyramid
Where does it stop? How can it be sustainable? Which big clubs will go bust first?
@CryptoIronsCOYI@VillainBaller West Ham spent £40m on a 20 year old last summer from a relegated club
Everton spent £40m on a 19 year old last summer from a relegated club
Forest spent £40m on a 21 year old last summer from a relegated club
Not sure the top clubs are pricing teams out of the market
@A1964Mark@ATLiverpool_@Darwinn99 Bring senesi as a free transfer too
Darwin covers CF & LW
Senesi CB
We can then afford to go a bit bigger on a midfielder, RW & RB
@Diresu_retne@L4fckop@TheAnfieldWrap Both comments I agree with
But ultimately we were very successful WITHOUT ‘buying’ a CB (Matip & Gomez)
It’s harsh to exclude Matip from this just because he was a free transfer, and Gomez is still a top quality CB when fit
@Inkedandunique@fifouliv The win rate is low because he has inferior players, and anyone who plays well gets sold so he has to start again
He makes players play as a collective above their individual level - exactly what Klopp achieved, and exactly what a team should be
@L4fckop@TheAnfieldWrap Can add Jacquet to that list now too
Also, if signings are successful, you don’t need to keep buying players. And good players don’t always cost money
Gomez was already here and was top quality (injuries have ruined him)
Matip was an incredible signing
