"So I passed Old Trafford on the way (to Spurs), and I was worried but then as I got close I rang my sister and she said, 'Paul, if my mum is getting a house and dad's getting a car, then I want a sunbed', so the deal was done on the sunbed."
He said in 2015: "Sometimes I do look back and think what would have been if… would I have won all those trophies. When I signed for Spurs, Man United became great, and they started winning everything. I look at that, and it's probably one of the regrets I have."

@MUFCVOLT @markgoldbridge There was no fix dont you get it? The railway stopped that from being done, a revamp with extra seating would've cost north of 1.6bn!!! And it still wouldn't be bigger than Wembley totally cost ineffective. 2bn through venture capital not like arsenal through club debt ffs

"There seems to be, from our colleagues in Spain, an openness on Real Madrid's part to him leaving this summer.
"If that accelerates later on in the window, wouldn't you be happier with somebody of his calibre through the door rather than a bit more of a project player like Mateus Fernandes if the fee is not that different in the end?"
