ERIC CANTONA on how marketing has taken over football:
"Every stadium today is named Emirates or Allianz. These stadiums have lost the spirit and history of their clubs.
Thankfully, Manchester United still plays at Old Trafford, and Anfield has kept its name. Can you imagine renaming Old Trafford after a brand? If that ever happens, I’m sorry, but I won’t be a fan of the club anymore, and I’ll walk away from football forever."
@jonnyh_efc@NoContextCounty He’s getting abused all day at Headingley next year. Hopefully he’s fielding all day because he won’t be batting long enough to get it all out my system
@ilovenostalgia Southern comfort. Drank it at a lunch time kick off and woke up for the night out with sick all over the place. Still made it out by the way
Cricket is, by far, the best spectator sport. It's basically just a beer garden with sport happening somewhere in the background. Watch, don't watch, have a stroll around, eat, talk, it doesn't matter. A brilliant day out.
When every opponent is called a Nazi, history is cheapened, debate is destroyed, and lives are put at risk. Abusing the word Nazi doesn’t only insult history, it poisons politics, fuels hatred, and costs lives. @GMB
Lovely to have Lauren and Ben King down tonight to collect their cheque for Bebe’s Hive which was raised on our Family Community Day back in July. 🐝🐝 💛
