@emojibakemono@MerriamWebster It’s the confusion of why people think Wi-Fi means that. Bad marketing, they wanted a buzz, it caught on… jif/gif, xerox…(photocopy) take a Polaroid, people just play words on badly and they stick.
@jakenbakeLIVE Owls/hawks/crows fight. Either she’s going to train the owl and doesn’t want the crows around, (laser) or she’s notifying the crows of the owl’s presence.
@MerriamWebster@MerriamWebster I think we’re joking around the same punchline.
That’s why it’s such a good comparison.
One is a fact about a word’s history.
One is a fact about a word’s pronunciation.
In both cases people learn the official answer and then collectively 🤷♂️ doing the opposite.
@MerriamWebster That’s the point.
Different subjects. Same outcome.
The experts say one thing, millions of people ignore it anyway.
The comparison wasn’t etymology vs pronunciation.
The comparison was “facts that are technically true but lose to common usage.”
I have a QA tester @Halfbrick. It’s in his genes. Found a way to walk into walls and how to push himself against ledges to *pop* up corners. I can’t recreate it with steps but can do it lmao but he can every time.
Over all the new Bluey’s quest for the Golden Pen has some awesome game design choices for little ones. 👏
As a parent who has a toddler (3) who can use a controller semi proficiently, this game is fun for him to control. He grasped the mechanics of moving blocks, he grasped the idea of finding gnomes, he solved puzzles with the ⭐️ tool/block and found “dad”.
Awesome work Halfbrick.
Glad that calmed the goblin, but he’s still in that cave.
Unfortunately Chromium/Brave hardware acceleration is generally a browser-wide setting, not a per-site permission like camera or notifications afaik since it’s where the render path sends data streams internally.
A few work things though maybe to try?
•Run Notion in a separate browser profile with hardware acceleration disabled. Just another instance of Notion in a different environment.
Open Notion in Firefox or another render engine and keep Brave accelerated for everything else if it’s your daily driver.
Create a dedicated Brave launch shortcut with --disable-gpu flag and use it only for Notion work.
Check brave://gpu to see which decoder/path is being used.
disabling acceleration fixed w result, I’d lean toward a GPU video decode issue, driver bug, or a specific codec/rendering path that Notion’s embedded video player is triggering rather than Notion itself. The brave gpu page when it’s happening should help point you towards which random driver is being a goblin.
@runishopess@godotengine Solo MMO advice.
Don’t build the biggest world you can imagine.
Build the smallest world players will remember.
Every system becomes content.
Every feature becomes maintenance.
Every promise becomes debt.
Scope is the real final boss.
