I thought this was so nice and refreshing, partly for its own reason but also because it's a 'fuck you' to fascist transphobes. But at the same time, I hate how they've poisoned such things so much that any mention of pregnancy/birth is burdened by the sickening shadow of TERFs

Currently reading A Day of Fallen Night, a book centred on several women characters and their relationships to their mothers/motherhood. During a birthing scene, a divinity of birth within the character's culture is described using gender neutral pronouns

Just finished Pirate Enlightenment by David Graeber. Such a playful and inquisitive book, everything you'd expect from him, and deeply, deeply interesting, particularly the parts about Malagasy women and their substantial commercial and sexual agency
