as trentahins who no longer have the energy to queue for hours, we were expecting if mugikan mig 4pm kay 7pm na mi maabot just in time para magstart na concert pero shux 5pm kapin naabot na mis seaside
I'm just gonna say it.
Okay lang if may ma-offend sa team nya, but I honestly think they fumbled this one.
Parang hindi naipakita kay Sen. Risa kung gaano kalawak ang reach ng WinRi across different generations. She kept referring to us as "mga bata," when in reality, ang daming moms, professionals, at even older supporters sa Facebook ang openly defending her ngayon because kinilig sila sa WinRi.
I think they could have prepared her better. Kahit simpleng heads-up lang about who the fandom actually is, or even asking Karen beforehand to steer clear of WinRi questions if they didn't want to entertain them. Sometimes preserving the mystery is the smarter PR move.
What disappoints me the most is that it feels like she thinks the "Winners" are just a bunch of giggly fifteen-year-olds.
We're not.
A lot of us are working professionals. We have careers, families, mortgages, bills, and taxes to pay. We just happen to enjoy this little corner of the internet because it's a fun escape from everything else.
For context, I've been watching Senate sessions since the Erap impeachment. Marami sa amin ang matagal nang politically aware. We didn't start paying attention because of a ship, we stayed because we genuinely care about public service, and WinRi just happened to make that space feel a little lighter.
That's why this whole thing feels so disappointing.
She doesn't owe us anything. We all know that. Pero ang hirap na yung efforts of the fandom is being reduced to this.
If you're a filipino and you didn't own a Jansport bag, either you're a white filipino or your commute game isn't that strong
Of course fil-ams won't get this reference. Pumunta kasi kayo dito sa Pilipinas.
random mini review but yeah i’ve found myself listening to the entirety of you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love most often lately instead of individual tracks. it’s just such an astonishing feat of storytelling from top-to-bottom that that’s become my favorite way to experience it. the journey she takes you on from drop dead to cigarette smoke is so engrossing in its emotional honesty, vulnerability, and maturity, and as soon as i press play i just wanna see it through to the end all over again. the way she’s able to make you feel every high and low of this love story right alongside her as if it was you who lived it too is such a special experience. i walk away with a deeper appreciation for the album every day, and if this is how much depth and sophistication her writing has at 23, there’s literally no limit to where she goes from here. voice of a generation.
the trailer perfectly showed how some men love ambitious women until the ambition starts outperforming them. hirap silang tanggapin na kaya mo silang higitan :)
