In any case not exactly an improvement to replace it with something average that could have been built any time between the 90s and now. And yes, a considerate upgrade into the 21st century would have been an architectural and environmental plus.
Demolition beckons for the fine, modernist French Railways House on Piccadilly (1960-62).
Designed by Shaw & Lloyd with signage by Ernő Goldfinger and interiors by Charlotte Perriand, this could so easily have been upgraded for modern office use. Wasteful and wholly unnecessary.
This morning brought an #ahamoment for me.
My dentist had taken down the reception glass screen. Wow! The room felt so much bigger staff so much more 'reachable'.
It reminds me of those mental glass screens. So good when they vanish, allowing to reach out again. #mentalhealth

Not been past the site for ages. This building at #WeybridgePark comes towards completion. The good: kind of underground car parking. Otherwise lapse of taste (esp. that chopped-off turret) and the ugly & impractical - lets call it - 'outside area implementation' is plain awful!
Isn't it amazing what a difference urban greenery can make!

Is it just me, or why are garden design programmes on TV just so annoying and half the time tend to give the impression of spontaneous last minute design, even if it's not. And often it just isn't good either. #gardendesignprogramme#falseimpression

@talklandscape Would anyone be able to help out with the term for opening up /renaturalising, etc. hard, i.e. 'sealed' surfaces again, as I somehow haven't used it in the UK. The German would translate as de-seal or unseal. Thanks a lot.
Visited @RHSWisley yesterday. Had a look at the new entrance design. Clean look. Disappointing technical/construction finish and detailing (alignment) for a @The_RHS flagship project. @talklandscape@LI_SouthEast @The_SGD
“Numerous studies have demonstrated that Green infrastructure does not provide a flood risk reduction” that from a group of engineers is this the new mantra to overcome? Since when have engineers adopted ‘fake news’ opposed to decisions based on sound technical knowledge
