@umbongo666@owenjonesjourno Exactly 👍
China is responsible for 32% annually.
The UK is responsible for 1% annually.
Asking the UK to do more on our 1% vs asking China to do some on their 32% is retarded.
@Just_a_b1oke@owenjonesjourno They are respinsibke for 32% of global annual CO2 emissions - Today. As in, right now. They are far from "sorted"
The UK is responsibke for less than 1% - Do the math.
No Brian.
My post was about convincing China to STOP. Stop the CO2 emissions. They’re responsible for 32% annually.
I used the best example actually, they currently produce the most by far out of any country on Earth right now.
You are clearly intellectually challenged so this is the last you'll hear from me.
@NotAlf7@owenjonesjourno I'm doing per-right-now - Who is producing the most CO2 right now - That's what matters if you want to make an actual impact.
China, USA, India - Convince them to stop.
Brian, you’re missing the point entirely.
China is the world leader in adding renewables.
They’re also still the world leader in burning coal and emitting CO₂.
They do both at the same time, at massive scale. That’s the entire problem.
Being good at installing solar panels doesn’t cancel out the fact they still run the largest coal fleet on the planet and produce ~32% of global emissions. Or you're just retarded?
We’ve already taken the lead. The UK produces just 1% of global annual emissions.
Has that fixed anything? No. Emissions kept rising elsewhere.
I’m all for solar (I’m invested in the sector myself). The point is you’re demanding the wrong people make sacrifices while China alone is responsible for ~32%.
@BrianMcHugh2011@proudfo31614 No mate, their absolute levels of CO2 are still 32% anual globally.
They produce energy from all sources - they are energy hungry - they are not an "example" by any stretch of the imagination.
@BrianMcHugh2011@ShedFun Brian, China is NOT "Convinced" they have the largest renewable infrastructure AND the most active coal plants in the world by a large margin!
They produce energy from all sources - they are energy hungry - they are NOT convinced.
THEY PRODUCE THE MOST CO2 EMISSIONS!
@BrianMcHugh2011 Brian, China is currently responsible for 32% of global annual CO2 emissions. The UK is responsible for 1%.
Seriously now, if you want to have an impact on climaye change, you MUST convince China to stop.
(and USA and India... before you start deflecting)
Ok then, go protest in Beijing. Wave your flags around and demand they shut down their coal plants.
See how far that gets you.
Pointing out that the UK is 1% of the problem isn’t “putting your head in the sand.” It’s refusing to pretend that self-flagellation here will magically fix the other 99%.
@LBeadman@smithn05@owenjonesjourno Leo, China has the largest renewable energy infrastructure in the world - i'm not disputing that.
They are ALSO responsible for 32% of global annual CO2 emissions. Out if 100%. 1-fucking-third.
I am blaming the right people - CHINA, USA, INDIA.
@BrianMcHugh2011@owenjonesjourno What do you think the bi-product is of making those renewables? 😂.
Yea, China has the largest renewable energy infrastructure in the world, however they are still responsible for 32% of annual global CO2 emmisions. What is your point?
@BrianMcHugh2011@owenjonesjourno By the way, i don't agree with it. I want annual CO2 to drop just as much as you but you are barking up the wrong tree.
Focus on the ones actually shitting in the planet - CHINA, USA, INDIA
