@Doc_Beery just finished your EJ article. Right on point. Here's a poem that I wrote that EJ published that touches on this same topic. And thank you. I love the questions you shared. https://t.co/I0GKVYKfCw
“Read, read, read. Read everything -- trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! Then write. If it's good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out of the window.” --William Faulkner
Some teachers will be back at school in as soon as three weeks. If you are a dept chair, administrator, SB member, or other type of leader look for things to tell teachers they do NOT have to do--or if you add a demand, subtract one, also. #takecareoftheteachers
@jneale Grades are important largely because they indicate a commitment towards a long term goal. Solid experience is important because it shows implementation of their education. The interview, though, if well conducted, shows you who they are... and that's most important.
I couldn't be more proud of this student, who just completed the reading of the novel It, by Stephen King. Cover to cover over the course of the semester. 1168 pages. He told me he wasn't a reader...This is the only evaluation I need. This will fuel me to retirement and beyond
@susangbarber To be fair, I see fellow teachers take the day off for far more trivial things... as do employees in the workforce around the world. At least work was asked for ahead of time. We tell students that school is their job, so now they are treating it like adults treat their jobs.
@JaxAlemany I'll trust anyone with a gonzo print in the background during an interview. Made me smile. Didn't agree with his politics but loved his writing style and irreverence.
