why should i care that chappell roan is mean and sabrina carpenter makes sex songs and taylor swift is a millennial when chris brown is selling out stadiums
Taylor Swift on Dakota Johnson for TIME Magazine's Most Influential People of 2026:
“Nearly 20 years into her fascinatingly varied and eclectic career, everyone is still getting to know Dakota. And it seems the more they learn, the more there is to fall in love with. In recent years, as she’s promoted her films, the name Dakota Johnson has become synonymous with refreshing honesty in a world of media-trained answers. Maybe it’s her sing-song vocal delivery, serenely answering questions with such frank candor it makes you feel like maybe this girl just ... can’t lie?!
As her friend, I can vouch for her realness, but add that she’s also one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. And maybe it’s true that she can’t lie. But I’ll tell you a few more things she can’t do. She can’t stop asking people questions about their lives, endlessly curious about everyone else’s human experience. She can’t stop challenging herself, taking newer and bolder risks like building her production company TeaTime Pictures. She can’t stop exploring the most intricate relationship complexities like in last year’s Splitsville and Materialists. Captivating in front of the screen and inquisitive behind it, her unfailing truthfulness helps to shape her ever evolving storytelling into art that feels as real and timeless as she is.
She comes by it honestly.”
Maybe I’m too woke but I think it’s insane to even listen to an artist who released a song named “Heil Hitler” less than a year ago, let alone attend his concert.
Kanye West & Chris Brown are on sold out tours despite having dozens of sexual assault/abuse cases but they want to ‘push Blake out of the industry’ for suing a man who retaliated against her after she reported him for harassment. truly a sick industry & society
because people are too fucking stupid/misogynistic to understand this update:
the judge threw out the sexual harassment claims (she’s still able to bring claims of retaliation) because he ruled that Lively couldn’t bring a SH claim under federal law since she was an independent contractor on the film. federal anti-discrimination laws including Title VII do not protect non-employees.
California state law DOES have protections for ICs, but the judge ruled that she can’t file a claim under CA state law because the movie filmed in New Jersey.
This is a horrifying reminder of how fucked our system is
