19 TV pilots, three movies and so much more. Writing was my escape in the past, but will it ever be my future?

"I bet you don't have any gay characters in your stuff"
Really?
I have gay characters. I also have bi, ace, and non-binary characters. I have a trans character. I have an entire species that are gender fluid!

A southern-talking, bounty hunting witch or a children's show about a child using cardboard to make fantasy worlds or a group of people who lift shipping containers like they were basket balls or someone living in Japan while being 4 inches tall....

So let me get this straight: an anime about a SENTIENT VENDING MACHINE gets a 3rd season and no studio will even read any of my pilots? Yeah, no, that's cool. Let a talking vending machine get a third season; no one wants to see a show about...

Not only that, but with how much information our minds absorb, it simplifies & generalizes as much as it can.
The more often a child is struck, the more the brain will generalize it from "doing this = hit" to "this person = hit" & will create emotional hate to avoid the person.
In my children's series, Lilly will get into trouble at times, but neither her parents nor uncles will never spank her. I've been trying to figure out the simplest way to convey why not to the adults who read the series, and I just heard the best reasoning.

"Do you remember when you were hit? Do you remember 𝑤ℎ𝑦?"
Something I learned while studying psychology is that our minds remember far more negative experiences than positive ones. That's because our brains are still wired for survival, and negative = threat.
There are so many reincarnation anime at the moment. I get that it's cozy and it would be easy to start over with the knowledge you have now, but isn't it more fulfilling to keep going in the present? To learn from past mistakes and move forward?

@trixiiefalls As someone who has been writing for years, spending days, weeks writing and rewriting dozens of scripts. I can confidently say that there is almost zero possibility that it was a coincidence.
Insurance companies will turn low wages into an uninsurable liability if this keeps up?
Good.
Make the corporations fight amongst themselves. Divide them. They've been doing that to us for decades, centuries.
I bought four pairs of prescription glasses in Japan, without insurance, at the cost of my last pair of glasses here in the US. The savings basically paid for the flight.
People want reasons why I'm trying to move out of the US, I want reasons to stay.
Reasons to stay in the US:
It's cheaper to fly to France, spend a week there and get the rabies shot than it is to get the rabies shot in the US.
It's cheaper to fly to Germany, stay there for a month and get a hip replacement than it is to get a hip replacement in the US.
It's cheaper to travel Rome for the summer and get heart bypass surgery there than it is to get heart bypass surgery in the US.
It's (generally) cheaper to spend a year in Spain and get cancer treatment than it is to get cancer treatment in the US.
My coworkers actually got into a discussion today about whether I'm "manly" or "feminine".
*I mention I use sandpaper to exfoliate*
1: "That is the manliest thing I've ever heard anyone say."
2: "But he shaves his body, like, bro."
I think I should just stop talking.
