@silvamore I always assumed it was Paulie... he was always trying to get in with NY, and they needed someone to run things after they did their coup d'tat.
Scorsese is pro-AI for the same reason so many middle aged and older people in creative industries are, and the same reason all those college administrators we saw getting booed were: they are being lied to about something they don’t really understand by enthusiastic rich people.
@JungianTyler@facetedcarapace Depends on the interest rate... if it's LIBOR level (the level at which banks lend to one another), then it could just be a nuisance fee that gets paid off down the road.
@peanuthead1467@FrontRowBrian When you've been saying the same thing for a decade plus, eventually you just run out of ways to say "I hate that I have to cover the UFC."
There's an entire generation of MMA media that's been done with the sport since before Covid... but they're too old to start over.
@TheAlexSylvian@looksbizarre How many of the 70 plus out there are under option, though? That's where a large amount of money can be for the right author.
@PatrickGBook They don't know how to book a heel in the modern WWE universe... a good heel cheats like hell, etc, but also has a justifiable reason WHY.
And they also have to have diff entrances, music, etc, as well.
It's being a diff character.
@peanuthead1467@FrontRowBrian He's an MVP employee ... let's not pretend he can trash talk his boss in public.
Covering the UFC is something he does for fun but Jake Paul is the one writing him weekly checks for good exposure, etc.
Why do you think Jake's interviews are so kid gloves friendly?
@d4doome It's charming to see this and then that they make Jack Reacher, which is about as genre goodness and violent, middle America appealing as it gets.
If we’re socializing college sports, why are we stopping at NIL earnings?
Cap coach earnings. Build a system that incentivizes/subsidizes post grad studies for athletes. Full ride scholarships for non revenue sports. Health insurance for a short time after graduation, etc.
They should ask Saban, under oath, how many players he paid in the pre-NIL era. He was happy driving his Ferrari down a never-ending exclusive road lined by brown paper bags of cash until NIL came into play.
@Phoenix79056156@EpicClipVault There was a period after the dick spitter broad got famous that everyone thought they were one viral street interview away from fame
@dwilsonphx93@btoppmeyer If the NCAA and the conferences weren't being paid billions, and their employees millions, then you've got a point... take away the money up top and I'm with you.
When March Madness is a multi-billion TV deal, well... all you're complaining about is who gets paid.
Quentin Tarantino slams Hollywood as a "flavorless sausage factory" where miscast actors and "audience pandering" are ruining new movies.
“Flaws, implausibilities, audience pandering, miscast performers or just plain stupid s*it usually torpedoes every new movie coming out of the flavorless sausage factory that used to call itself Hollywood. These days, the entire concept of what is a movie is more inclined to inspire contempt in me than generosity... I’ve seen movies I liked since – ‘West Side Story’ (2021); ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ Chapter 1 and 2 (both 2024), a few others, but nothing that really held me in its grip and swept me away to the magical land of enjoyment that I use to visit regularly and was the reason I loved movies above all other artforms. These days I’d rather read a book." (via Sight & Sound)
