The Alcohol Co-design and Community Engagement (ACE) study was launched during
summer 2023 to meaningfully understand the lived experience of those affected by alcohol
harm in Nepal, and to inform future research, policy, and practice.
This is the first known study to apply creative and interdisciplinary research methods to co-
create a roadmap to support the implementation and scale up Nepal’s response to harmful
alcohol use, as highlighted in the WHO’s Global Action Plan 2022-30 the SAFER initiative.
