This level of evidence demonstrates that Group Arts activities can be as effective as other classes of behavioural (eg running) or pharmacological (eg anti depressants) interventions.

Thirty-six studies investigated the impact of group arts interventions on depression (n = 3,360) and ten studies investigated anxiety (n = 949). Subgroup analyses showed that group arts were more effective for people in care homes than community settings.
