@joannaCannon went to university as a mature student. After qualifying as doctor, she specialized in psychiatry. 'Breaking and Mending: a Junior Doctor's Stories of Compassion and Burnout' was published in 2019 ('short and devastating - a superb medical memoir': The Guardian). By then she had already published the international best seller The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, & left and returned to psychiatry as a volunteer with Arts for Health. Her most recent novel, A Tidy Ending, was published in 2022. At Bodies: 2 she will be speaking on dementia.
