Ever wanted to have an on-stream pop-up alert when someone uses your @TheRogueEnergy affiliate code? Here is how to make that happen! https://t.co/SAJFOawp22
Had a great time at TwitchCon talking to Creators about different ways to increase monetization and community engagement! Now it's time for us to get back to work, incorporating some of the feedback and suggestions we received.
::sees X is removing its block feature::
::sees everyone opposed to this::
::adds "Block Feature" to the todo list::
We're building in public. If there are other features creators really want/need, let us know! We want to help you, not dictate what we think your needs are.
We're sorry you feel that way. We ask for 8 of the 56 possible scopes that Twitch offers, and only at a read level (meaning we can see when changes occur, but can't make changes). It's a fine line to walk, asking for enough information to effectively do our job while still asking for the minimum amount of information we need.

Friendly reminder that we're not currently taking any fees while we build our competing product. The only fees you're charged are Stripe's processing fees. Which means you get to keep ~96% of your sales.
Hey, if you're a Patreon creator and are confused as to why a bunch of your income vanished, it's because Patreon's system appears to have totally collapsed. They sent me an email saying my credit card blocked the payment as fraudulent, and CANCELLED ALL OF MY CREATOR SUPPORT. 1/
I thought today might be a good day to remind content creators who might be looking for a new home that we're still quietly building. We're a small startup with $0 in investor funding, meaning we can't be forced by investors to sell the house if fan funds run low. 😉
The most critical piece of advice I can give to streamers right now is to build a secondary platform for monetization and discovery.
No matter if you stay on Twitch or want to switch, the suggestion is going to be the same: start a YouTube channel.
With @Twitch making it ever-harder to monetize on-platform, it makes more sense than ever to treat it like any other top-funnel social media platform. Gather an audience there, and send them elsewhere to monetize. For example, your own Creator Coin Hub website. 😉 #streamers
Twitch has new Branded Content Guidelines.
- On-stream logos are limited to 3% of screen size.
- Burned-in video Ads are NOT allowed.
- Burned-in Display Ads are NOT allowed.
- Burned-in Audio Ads are NOT allowed.

Creators NEED to build more OFF PLATFORM monetization for themselves.
But I think the seduction of attention and big numbers makes them keep leading their entire career from the platforms.
It’s a position where the creator has little or NO leverage.
Creators need to take control of their brands and not lease them from the platforms they post to.
@power0fpurpose @robertoblake Yes. 1. :-) 40% of your time should be spent on your main content platform. Another 20% on your secondary content platform. Another 20% on all other social medias. And then 20% on your business. Part of that business is building a monetization home for the long-term (eg Patreon).
@robertoblake We agree. Building your entire business on a single social media platform is a huge risk! Instead, social media should be used to funnel people to a primary monetization platform who views creators as their primary customers instead of as their product.
Typical media company:
Remove the CEO and it can still function with its base intact
Creator media company:
Remove the creator and the whole thing falls
That's pressure...and a reminder to creators to keep your overhead low
Do you need to receive some email, but worry about giving out your personal email address? Well, we've just added email aliasing! Now you can receive (and reply to) email using your personal inbox, but it will seem like it's coming from a https://t.co/hQtcgzcxez address!
