@Stefan_pavlovc@imoteda To a 150 iq person a 110 iq person is not functional in resource acquisition or understanding. The same way a 70 iq downsyndrome person is to the 110 iq.
@DylandLyle39036@Auggystyle1@fwprism Someone with downsyndrome is much closer to someone with 90 iq than someone with 90 iq is to someone with high intelligence. Then someone with high intelligence can argue the same points to abort those with 90 iq
In conclusion the downsyndrome debate goes as follows. Midwits think downsyndrome children should be aborted, not realizing their IQ is as far from actual intellectuals as it is to downsyndromes. So in an actual utilitarian society the midwits would also be aborted, but it’s due to the grace and morality of actually intelligent people our world works.
The average person seems to think aborting Down syndrome babies is okay because they are low functional.
The average person has 100 IQ. I’m not even that smart and have a 138 IQ. Their IQ is almost as close to the downsyndrome (50-60 avg) as it is mine.
They are cheering their own downfall. Why?
Because they are low IQ
@Ad_Th24@JesusAColes@fwprism i value the lives of souls. using your thought process where low iq lives dont matter, you probably would not matter to me.
@DylandLyle39036@Auggystyle1@fwprism almost everyone <100 iq is a net drain on society from a pure economic standpoint. would you say all should be aborted?
At that point, for the 130's anyone less than 130 would be a net negative...
and so forth... and so forth..
I don't think most Pro abortion of down syndrome babies people are ready to get into the debate of the value of a human life.
When they begin to debate the postive and negative expected value of a life, many of them find a down syndrome life negative EV (which is fair it is a large burden, but the human souls value outweighs the negative societal effects), they can not justify their other beliefs.
Using this logic we could selectively breed and almost all parents would be excluded in a +EV birth program aside from NE Asians which have the highest expected IQ and are least likely to commit crimes.
Now, using their logic this would make sense, but human life has value, and cannot be determined purely by probabilistic density functions.
@DylandLyle39036@Auggystyle1@fwprism the same could be said for almost all negative expected value children, but we still give them a chance at life because they deserve it.
@TeronamousR@JesusAColes@fwprism okay so i'm a little confused in your thought process. do you think utilitarian philosiphy is good? if so i would agree that + EV (expected value) and - EV thinking is the way forward from there.
If you don't think its good, then yes we must accept and embrace negative outcomes
