A reminder that Artificial Intelligence seems to lack common sense. I share AI image generator fails, that would be obvious to a human artist, like extra limbs.
Because a mural of hands obviously needs some with 3 fingers and a thumb, some with two thumbs, and some with six or more digits. Notice that even those with the right number have creepily long or misshapen digits - and all have appropriately shaped, coloured rubber gloves!
How can a system that is so good at generating plausible images miss things as obvious as checking people have the right numbers of limbs or digits?

I asked Midjourney to create "high resolution photographs of an adolescent interacting with their parent". The results ranged from normal to awful via decidedly weird. A thread of highlights follows.
"high resolution photograph of an adolescent interacting with their parent" seems like a simple instruction for midjourney to generate. The results suggest otherwise. A whole thread of weirdness follows.
This weird grid from MJ tells a story of the creepy magician kid (bottom left) turning evil, bringing out Dad's karate skills (bottom right), then turning them to ventriloquist dummies (top right) before magician kid is turned into a statue and Dad returns to normal (top left).
