I think the highest form of spirituality is simply learning how to live your life. Not escaping into altered states, collecting initiations, memorizing scriptures, or trying to become something other than what you already are. All of those things do have their place along the way, but eventually they have to lead you back here. Back to making breakfast, taking care of your body, doing your work, loving the people around you, and paying attention to what is directly in front of you. The point of the path isn’t to take you out of life, it’s to teach you how to be completely inside it.
The point of practice isn’t to spend your entire life practicing. It’s to become so completely present that the division between practice and life disappears. You stop looking for the sacred somewhere else because you realize there is nowhere else for it to be. Washing dishes is it. Training is it. Sitting quietly with someone you love is it. Growing old is it. Even boredom, grief, and uncertainty are part of it. Eventually you put down all the methods and explanations and simply participate in your own existence. The highest teaching is living ordinary life completely.
Good news: I’m back building.
1) Freelancing at a startup, and
2) “creating” my master thesis.
However, I would like to do something else. To build life. I don’t know.
@LVTornh Ik zag afgelopen maand voor het eerst een Van Tornhaut container op één van jullie werven. Ik voelde mij een fan. Maar ik ben eigenlijk ook fan van wat jullie doen. Vooral deze architecturale parel. Proficiat!
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
That's what Picasso said.
As adults, we're prioritising practicalities like bills, careers, and family life. Which is normal. And it seems good.
But there is a problem.
I want the best for everyone. And its so sad to see people on this planet just living and not appreciating life to the fullest. I don't know what the problem is. I don't know what the solution is. The fact is, I don't know anything.
Yet, I want to go places. I want to feel.
@FinanceFilosoof Helemaal akkoord. Alleen merk ik dat eenmaal je aan het "leven" begint, het volwassen leven niet gemakkelijk is. Ik wil kind blijven. Ik wil dingen creëren, dingen uitproberen.

At some point you start questioning this writing. Who reads this? Why even bother?
I don’t know. It’s just some kind of urge that comes back now and then. An urge to create something. A moment to reflect.
That’s the ultimate luxury one can have. Time to do nothing. To reflect.
I have just over a year left to figure out what I truly want to do in my life. And the truth is: I have no clue.
I expect to graduate (computer science) in the summer of 2026.
What’s next? Working a corporate white collar 9-5 job, behind a desk for 5 days a week? No way. 1/n
And I’m very grateful to be in a position to chose what I want to do. I recognize that some people don’t have a choice. Although I think everyone can break free. It’s not always simple.
