The photos of the Syracuse Figure (photos shot on Aug 10, 2026) have now been in the news and seen by a large number of people in Onondaga County New York, but no one has come forward to say they have seen this “old man” before. A homeless hermit in a rural area would be seen by even more people than someone who is not homeless. This figure stands about 4 foot 9 inches tall, which would make him even more distinctive than an average size man. Read the full report to see how its height was approximated, and how difficult it would be for even a young fit person to go wading in this swampy pond. I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, "Never play fair in a game where others cheat." It doesn't mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they'll throw dirt.
