@evoL_thoughts I mean just eye test, their defense did not look as good as years past. The numbers objectively were good but by comparison to other years, they were worse. It’s the danger of taking over a great defense.

Steve Wilks didn’t get let go because he’s a bad coach. He didn’t get let go because of the Super Bowl. He didn’t get let go because he’s black. He didn’t get let go because he screwed up.

He was let go because the front half of the defense wasn’t in synch with the back half. And it was like that frequently this season. This roster is too elite for that to continue.

Sometimes chemistry is just wrong. It’s not a judgment on Wilks. He’s an outstanding football mind. It just didn’t gel with this program.

@evoL_thoughts Also up until the first 3 quarters of the SB, their defense hadn’t looked THAT great in the playoffs and their pass rush had fallen off which is why they went out and got Chase Young to begin with

@evoL_thoughts I don’t think it was just the Super Bowl, the defense hadn’t looked as good as last year’s even before that (there were already criticisms during the season), he had a very high standard to live up to after DeMeco Ryans and Salah
