@KingArtAT As discussed at Cavendish Sq this evening mate I’m sad to see the pretty little things livery disappear but at least you remain loyal to the Vito the best cab this trade has ever had 🎣
For half a century, London’s black cabs have been more than just a way of getting from A to B – they’ve been the heartbeat of our great city. From the bright lights of the West End to the historic streets of the East, black cab drivers have kept London moving, rain or shine, day and night.
Ascotts are celebrating 50 years of this incredible tradition – and want YOU to be part of the next chapter.
Be your own boss. Work your own hours. Take on The Knowledge and become not just a driver, but a true guardian of London. 🚖💂♂️ Every journey is a chance to share the magic of our city – the sights, the scenery, the history – and get paid while doing it.
There’s nothing quite like the pride of wearing that badge, the freedom of the open road, and the joy of being part of London’s story. So here’s to 50 years of service, and to the next generation of cabbies who will keep the wheels of London turning. ❤️🇬🇧

@JayLouiseKnight 4 year, 1 month, 11 days from Manor House station to getting my badge. Working full time as the bread winner with a wife & three kids soon to be four after passing out.
It was tough but I put my foot on the gas & didn’t take it off until I got that handshake
London's taxi drivers have a reputation like no other thanks in large part to 'the knowledge', their almost encyclopedic recall of every street and building of importance.
Back in 1974, Nationwide's James Hogg met some of those aspiring to become suitably knowledgeable.
@t87169956 Been a cab driver for 8 years this year & on presentation day the gent that is Mr Thomas gave us the etiquette talk/do’s & dont’s. I’ve had several dog moves pulled in the last week by 5,6,7 & 8 badge numbers. Every trade/organisation has bad apples,
@cabgirle 100% it’s about your state of mind !!! The last 12 months have been a real shit time & not so long ago fell ill & have had quite a bit of time off work. Still not fully recovered & some days mentally it’s tough to get going not just physically. Each day as it comes, all the best.
@justinbellinger@Raj_Chada If they are a law abiding citizen that needs to be in possession for what ever reason it may be they would be able to provide a lawful reason. Going with climbing gear, rope ladders & bolt cutters sounds like an allegation of going quipped to steal ? 🤔
@XelenX1@Raj_Chada Correct !!! But what was the lawful reason for being in possession of them collectively in a public place ? Rope ladders, climbing ladders & bolt croppers sounds like grounds to arrest someone going equipped to steal without the other items,
@ColinHynson @Raj_Chada Correct it’s not illegal to posses all of these items but to have them all collectively what is the lawful reason ? Bolt croppers in a public place = going equipped to steal etc etc.
