Our exhibition in the Art Space Galley in Crewe seems to be very well received. All members are invited to an open evening on Tuesday 16th December, 7:30pm. It's a good opportunity for us all to see how well our photographs look when they are framed in an art gallery.
Thursday (13/2) is our last meeting of the year. It's a members evening so members are encouraged to submit images via Dropbox. There will also be the challenge of the Christmas quiz, so it will be a fun night.
On Thursday, we hosted the 5 Towns Monochrome print competition where Crewe PS, Whitchurch, Nantwich, Mid-Cheshire and Alsager clubs competed for the trophy. It was very close with just 9 points separating 5 clubs. Mid-Cheshire edged it with 217 points, with Crewe scoring 208.
This week (127/11), we welcome members from Alsager, Whitchurch, Nantwich and Mid Cheshire to compete for the Alan Challinor Trophy (The 5 Towns Monochrome Print Competition). Alan wanted to keep monochrome printing alive when colour photography came along.
This Thursday (20/11), we have our second PDI competition of the season. Judge Martin Pickles has confirmed that he can access the PDIs and has let us know that he is impressed with the quality of the images. It should be a good night.
Next week (13/11), we can see some of the best prints from the North West’s top photographers. Prints are what separate photography clubs from other associations and seeing them in close up is special. We host Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union’s Print Folio A. Be there!
On Thursday, we held our annual interclub competition against Nantwich CC and it was very close. The event had both print and PDI sections with 30 images in each. Crewe edged it with 259 to 252 marks, so won by 7 marks with total of 502 to Nantwich's 495. Very close indeed!
A last call for entries for Ray Hill's presentation on Thursday (30/10). Ray is hosting our meeting for each person to discuss 6 photos. Ray would like every member to submit photos; there will be no judging, just positive feedback to encourage people to take photos.
On Thursday (23/10), Paddy Ruske judges our first print competition of the season. Prints are the essence of photography and Paddy is an experienced landscape and Natural History photographer who will admire the work of our top-class nature photographers.
This week ((16/10), Simon Buckley will visit us talk about his 'Not Quite Light' project in which he'll explain how we can take fascinating photographs of urban landscapes at dusk.
Ray Hill would like every member to submit up to 6 photos for the 30/10 evening
On Thursday (2/10) Nick Berentzen CPAGB, BPE3* will judge our first PDI competition of the season. Nick always gives us a well balanced critique of our images and offers good advice. We have a good entry of 73 images to enjoy, so it should be a good night.
On Thursday, we enjoyed listening to Nantwich Camera Club member, Pete Allcock, who showed us how he'd progressed from a keen amateur photographer to an advanced wildlife photographer. Pete explained that by joining a camera club he learned so much and improved from advice.
Next Thursday (2/) we welcome Nantwich Camera Club member, Pete Allcock Hon CPE tell us about his ‘Story So Far’. Peter will explain how he grew from being a raw beginner to a talented wildlife photographer, and how club photography helped him along that exciting journey.
It was good to see everyone again at our opening event of the season on Thursday.

it's our first meeting of the season on Thursday (11/9), an introduction to our new season and a chance for you to show us what you've been photographing over the Summer. You can still submit images if you wish via dropbox as usual.
IOn Tuesday 1st. April, we have our inter-club competition against Nantwich which they host. It's spilt up into a PDI and print competition with 15 images in each. Nantwich meet at Regents Park, 129 London Rd, Nantwich CW5 6LW. The meeting start at 7:30pm.
On Thursday, John Smith, L&CPU's Audio Visual Secretary, gave us a practical demonstration on how easy it is to created a sophisticated slideshow with text, music and music in Pictures to Exe. He showed us some humorous slideshows he has created and showed us how he did it.
On Thursday (20/3), John Smith, APAGB, CPAGB, Hon LCPU, the LCPU's Audio Visual Secretary will give us his talk on Audio Visuals using PTA AV Studio. It'll be something a little different that we all should find interesting to give our pastime a different dimension.
On Thursday 6/3), our Programme Secretary, Stephen Coyne and his wife, Judith will present their talk called 'Places we Remember'. It will take us on a quick hop around the world with the Coynes'. It should be something to savour and not just for the photographs.
Congratulations to all involved in our Jim Harrison Trophy for the best PDI of the year. Our annual print competition is on 13th March and will be judged by Adrian Lines MPAGB FBPE ARPS EFIAP SPSA. The PDI of the prints are due in by Sunday via Dropbox.
