Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi) tengah menggodok rencana re-registrasi pengguna media sosial yang mewajibkan pencantuman nomor telepon saat membuat atau menggunakan akun media sosial.

Menteri Komunikasi dan Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid mengatakan, saat ini penggunaan nomor telepon untuk akun media sosial masih bersifat tidak wajib. Karena itu, pemerintah tengah mengkaji penguatan identitas pengguna melalui mekanisme registrasi baru.

“Terkait rencana re-registrasi terhadap pengguna media sosial dengan memberikan akuntabilitas, bahwa kalau saat ini itu sifatnya tidak wajib untuk memberikan nomor telepon,” kata Meutya dalam rapat kerja dengan Komisi I DPR di Kompleks Parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta, Senin (18/5).

Menurut dia, skema tersebut saat ini masih dalam tahap pembahasan. Selain mewajibkan nomor telepon, pemerintah juga berencana memperkuat sistem identitas digital terverifikasi melalui Penyelenggara Sertifikasi Elektronik (PSRE).

“Ini yang sedang kita godok juga dengan konsultasi publik tentunya Bapak Ibu, bagaimana agar orang ketika masuk ke sosial media wajib menaruh nomor teleponnya. Sehingga identitasnya jelas, sehingga mereka menjadi akuntabel atau ya bertanggung jawab terhadap tulisan-tulisan yang juga ditayangkan,” ujarnya.
