A new addition to my #readingfc collection is a lovely Pinnace Cabinet-size (6x4) card from the early 1920s. The largest of the three sizes issued, I've now completed the 'hat-trick' for Alec Christie
From the very old to the very new: Two cards I've added to my #readingfc collection this year, shown together for contrast. A stunning large Pinnace cigarette card from 1920, and a Panini trading card recently released.
@dingarchive The first time we played them was in the FA Cup back in 1928, a 1-0 defeat in front of more than 27,000 at Elm Park. I'm lucky enough to own this incredicle large framed photo showing the packed terraces #readingfc
@museum2103 Which is the best way to preserve them of course. I've used duplicates of ones I keep in archival binders, these are just for display and they look fantastic 🙂
@ed_lowis Hi Ed, I would normally, but these are spares so I thought I'd see what the look like: pretty good actually! I've only got a couple of the Brigham cards, always a bit out of my price range sadly...
Please have a look at my #readingfc website if you haven't yet. It's purely a means of sharing my collection and some of our club's history, and is 100% non-profit https://t.co/0XJQnNiWH4
Newspapers are not designed to be kept, so are printed on cheap acidic paper (even more so in the past). This means that over time they will dry out and yellow with age, making them very unstable. Here are a few old papers I have relating to #readingfc that have seen better days!
New Addition to my collection: A lovely rosette issued after #readingfc set the record for consecutive league wins at the start of a season (which still stands after 41 years). I've got a few of these now, and they make a nice little collection in themselves.
@MarkHopgoo46439 That's exactly it. I've seen us play in all four divisions, and I'd rather see an entertaining match in League Two than watch our awful minimal action football in the Championship.
A new addition for my #readingfc collection: Another incredibly scarce team supplement of which I have several, and I absolutely love them. These are very delicate and, as is usual, this one has been folded.
