@windowintlpod How do you know they would have qualfied if it was a 32-team tournament? Instead of 9 group winners qualifying for 2026, for 2022 Africa had 10 group winners who then all had to win a playoff.
@kageryu311@EricNjiiru Ecuador are decent but not a top, top side. Yes of course its a good result, I still feel that those draws were the most impressive
@danielj0nes26@hughiemachrins@R_MFC_1885 Also Cape Verde won their group, but for 2022 the 10 African group winners had to play off for 5 spots. So winning the group only gave a 50% chancd of qualification. Whereas this time all 9 winners qualified, plus one team through the inter cofederation play offs
@TheImmortalKop@LFCLaurie It did. There were 9 groups with all winners qualifying. Last time there were 10 groups and only half the winners qualified. So the extension meant they avoided a play off round.
@Cantonadevils True but we need numbers next season. If Ederson is the Ugarte replacement, we can then look for a Casemiro plus and a creative player for depth.
@RomzyUnited Midfield is very obviously the top priority this year. Only 2 serious option now (Mainoo and Ugarte) and Ugarte probably leaves. Need three midfielders simply for the depth. We have enough defenders... sure could strengthen but MF first.
@RodinSimi In your head as always.
Maybe this will happen, maybe not. See how the recruitment goes over the summer. Obviously they need to build a squad for playing twice a week.
Chelsea will do better next season, but that's not hard.
@ThaEuropeanLad People will always have different opinions but I think you are pretty close there, can't argue with those pics.
Personally maybe Saliba over VVD although VVD had little support.
@MatchTalks_ Sure, but thats how any record works. Goals record could be mostly pens and tap ins. Assists can be simple passes. A player may miss games through injury. Fernandes has the record, that's it. Doesn't make him the best creator of the PL era, but the record is fact.
